On Saturday, September 29th from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon, a basic computer class in Microsoft Office 2000 will be offered at the Aldine Y.O.U.T H. Community Center, 4700 Aldine Mail Rt., to the first 20 people to register. Participants must be at least 18 years old and be able to type at least 10 words per minute.
The cost of the class is $5.00 for books and must be paid by Friday, September 21 on a first come, first served basis. New Horizons, Inc will facilitate the class. They will provide laptop computers and hands-on instruction.
Aldine Y.O.U.T.H. is also planning to offer Basic Spanish and Beginning Sign Language classes starting in October if there is enough community interest. Both classes will be held for 6 weeks on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Cost will be $30 for members, $35 for non-members. If you would like to register, please call the Center by September 24th. We will also be offering more Basic Computer classes in the near future.
