No matter what time of day the sky happens to catch your eye, there is sure to be some sort of winged creature flying about to spark your interest. Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center offers excellent viewing opportunities for these denizens of the air, during an Early Morning Bird Walk Saturday, October 20 at 7 a.m. followed by a multifaceted program about Bats at 10 am.
For those individuals that yearn to see more of the bird life that migrates through our area each fall on their journey to warmer winter grounds, now is the time.
Jones Park offers excellent bird viewing opportunities Saturday, October 20 at 7 a.m., as members of the Outdoor Nature Club Ornithology Group and noted naturalist Carmine Stahl lead participants ages 12 and older on an early morning bird walk along the parks trail system.

For those who are curious about the types of bats found in our area and how to attract them, Jones Park hosts a program entitled Bats in the Box Saturday at 10 a.m.
Dianna Foss with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department leads an up close look at this secretive nighttime creature. Visitors ages five and older can learn why these flying mammals are great to have around and how they help control insect populations. Afterward, participants can make their own bat box to encourage bats to their yards. Reservations are required.
Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center, a Harris County Precinct 4 facility, is located at 20634 Kenswick Drive in Humble.
All programs are free of charge and open to the public. Harris County Precinct 4 programs serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, national origin or disability.
