Carjacking on Mesa leads to high speed chase, crash

Houston Police report that a carjacking occurred last Monday, July 5th at about 2:30 a.m. in the drive-thru lane of the Jack In the Box fast food restaurant at Mesa and Tidwell roads in North Forest.

The car was stolen, and the two women occupants kidnapped and sexually assaulted for hours, according to police reports.

The women were in a yellow Mustang convertible, and are reported to be in their twenties, but are otherwise unidentified.

After abducting the women, the suspect forced them at gunpoint to drive around the area, and allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulted them.

At one point, the women tricked the gunman into driving to an apartment on Beltway 8 near Atascocita, under the ruse of getting money. Once they were there, one of the women notified her brother by cell phone, who came out of the apartment with a gun, and confronted the suspect, firing at him. At that point, the other woman escaped from the car, and the suspect drove off in the Mustang. At this point, Houston police were alerted to the crime, and pursued the fleeing vehicle, which crashed near Wilson Road and Beltway 8, completely demolishing the yellow Mustang and seriously injuring the driver, who was in critical condition.
