The Aldine College Endowment Scholarship Foundation (ACESF) received two $10,000 donations during the Oct. 17 Aldine ISD Board of Education meeting. Dr. David Sam, right, president of North Harris College, and Dr. Darla Miller, also of North Harris College and president of ACESF, presented a $10,000 check on behalf of the college. Additionally, Ben Wilson, Aldine ISDs assistant superintendent of community and governmental relations, also presented a $10,000 check to Dr. Miller on behalf of Aldine ISD. Wilson also presented Dr. Miller with a $906 check as part of an employee payroll deduction program the district started this year on behalf of ACESF. ACESF awards scholarships to North Harris College to Aldine ISD seniors, who otherwise would not be able to attend college. Last year, ACESF awarded 35 scholarships to deserving AISD graduates.
