Aldine Community Improvement District names depository

The Board of Directors of the Aldine Community Improvement District met last Tuesday in the community room at Jed’s Ace Home Center.

The meeting opened with a time for public comments during which the board received an update on the repairs being made at the North Houston American Little League Park on Cromwell and the League’s plans for opening day activities.

Following discussion, the board voted to approve the firm of Vinson & Elkins to provide legal services for the district.

In addition, the board voted to name Paradigm Bank on Aldine Bender as the primary depository for the district. Paradigm Bank will receive direct deposits of the 1¢ sales tax collected by the Comptroller of the Currency on the second Friday of each month beginning in March 2002.

In other action, the board voted to postpone the appointment of an investment officer until the next meeting. The investment officer will decide, within strict legal requirements, how the district’s money will be invested. The board also voted to accept a Code of Ethics outlining the ethical conduct of the District’s business by the directors.

The next meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on February 19th in the community room at Jed’s Ace Home Center, 5415 Aldine Mail Route.
Public comments are welcome at the beginning of each meeting.
