Shell Oil donates to HCC Northeast

The Shell Oil Company Foundation has awarded Houston Community College-Northeast $10,000 to be used in Westhollow Scholarships for students enrolled in the College’s Chemical Laboratory Technician or Process Technology programs during the 2001-2002 academic year. Dr. Carmen T. Wright (fourth from right in the photo above), representing the Shell Foundation, presented the award check to Dr. John Galiotos, chair of both the Chemical Laboratory Technician and Process Technology departments at HCC-Northeast, during a recent meeting of the Process Technology Advisory Committee. Witnessing the transaction were, left to right: committee member Patric Bellamy, from Houston Area Technology Advancement Center; HCC-Northeast instructor Be Nguyen; and committee members Gilbert J. This check from Schell represents a continuation of the Westhollow Technology Center’s partnership with HCC-Northeast in Chemical Laboratory Technology programs. The initial check for $30,000 was presented to the Chancellor, the President, and the Board of Trustees in 1999.
