A Greenspoint-area shopping center, which area residents said had been in decline over the past few years, has gotten a whole new face lift thanks to developer Schreer Interests.
Last week the Greater Greenspoint District and North Houston Greenspoint Chamber of Commerce joined with Schreer in the Grand Reopening of the Greens Crossroads Shopping Center on West Greens Road.
The focal point of the shopping center is the Burlington Coat Factory. Andrew Schreer is owner of Burlington as well as co-owner of Greens Crossing. Schreer said that when he and his partners began looking for a location for the store, the Greenspoint area proved to be a location that was experiencing tremendous growth and he wanted to be a part of it.

“We found Greenspoint’s market conditions to be ripe of this kind of retail development, Schreer said, “The revitalization of the shopping center joins other upcoming and existing retail projects in the area that provide a variety of shopping choices in Greenspoint and North Houston.”
New tenants Cricket Communications and Sports Fan 2 joined Burlington in the reopening celebration last week. Burger King, a longtime tenant of the center, showed their dedication to the new image by not only announcing plans for renovations at the restaurant but by signing a 20-year lease with Schreer.
Reggie Gray, president of the North Houston-Greenspoint Chamber, said that Greens Crossroads is just one of many projects that is making the area the envy of the Houston area.
“The revitalization of the Greens Crossroads Shopping Center is part of a series of redevelopment projects coming to the area, including a transformation of Greenspoint Mall’s retail landscape,” Gray said. “These developments continue to show the diversity and growth we are experiencing in north Houston.”
