Ford Motor Company announces the winners of the 2018 Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week trophy for week 3 – among these winners is Aldine’s Jacorey Howard. These six Built Ford Tough gridiron heroes are honored for their performance on the field and their leadership off the field. Each week of the regular high school football season will see a new winner in the sport’s six classifications, all with hopes of ultimately becoming the Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Year.

Class 6-A: Jacorey Howard, Sr., Quarterback, Aldine

Opponent: Sam Houston MSTC

Quarterback Jacorey Howard helped lead the Aldin Mustangs to a win on Friday night — and right out of a 23-game losing streak. Jacorey had 23 carries for 451 yards and five TDs. On his first TD run, Jacorey stiff-armed a defensive back 10 yards into the end zone. On another run, Jacorey ran over 8 defenders on his way to the end zone.

“Sometimes, you have a kid who finally says, ‘Enough is enough. We are not going to lose this game,’” said Aldin Head Coach Hank Semler. “When that happens, as a coach, you want that kid to have the ball in his hands as much as possible. Jacorey Howard has been a steady rock for our team through a 23-game losing streak, and he took it upon himself to end that streak. The entire stadium was awestruck by his performance when they put his stats on the jumbotron after the game.” Awards/Accolades:

• Led his teammates in a Hurricane Harvey relief effort

• Student Council

• Multi-sport player including Basketball, Powerlifting, Track

• All-District Football 2017.
