EAST ALDINE – The Annual Fall Festival, hosted by the East Aldine District, attracted a large crowd of adults and children, enjoying music and dancing, contests and raffles, and lots of exhibits and information booths from local agencies and organizations.
The Festival took place at Town Center this year, next to BakerRipley campus. The theme for the event was observance of “Dia De Los Muertos” and there were lots of costumes and face painting with that theme.
Attractions included live entertainment from Aldine ISD dance and music classes, food trucks, games, raffles, face painting, a kid’s dance contest, and emphasizing the theme, a Sugar Skull Face contest. Also showing was the Disney movie COCO.
Sponsors of the event included Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Lone Star CollegeNorth Harris East Aldine campus, BakerRipley, Aldine ISD Avalos P-Tech School, Harris County Sheriff ’s Office, and the East Aldine District.
Unusually good weather contributed to everyone having a fun time, according to the organizers.
About two dozen organizations had information booths, and games, face painting, balloon figures, and much more. A number of Bounce Houses and castles kept the kids entertained. Exhibits also included Westfield Fire Department engine, and an ambulance from Harris County Emergency Corps.
