Harris County reported that over 200,000 voters turned out for the runoff election held last Saturday. Incumbent Mayor Sylvester Turner defeated challenger Tony Buzbee, the most interesting of several races.
Others of local interest elected were City Councilmen David Robinson, Michael Kubosh, Letitia Plummer, Sallie Alcorn, and Karla Cisneros, who won by 12 votes out of 10,554 cast.
