Rep. Armando Walle files for re-election for House District 140

HOUSTON — Representative Armando Walle (D-Houston) filed for re-election for the 2012 election cycle. Rep. Walle filed in House District 140, which he was first elected to represent in 2008.

“I’m proud to represent our community at the Texas House of Representatives,” said Rep. Walle. “If our community sees fit to send me back to Austin, I promise to continue working for our families, schools, and neighborhoods.”

With the new legislative redistricting maps passed by the San Antonio federal court, House District 140 has undergone a few changes. The northside of Houston is now largely part of House District 148, represented by Rep. Jessica Farrar (D-Houston). House District 140 has shifted northward and encompasses areas west of Greenspoint near Rankin and Veterans Memorial. It still maintains large portions of Aldine. The new districts will be in effect for the 2012 elections.

“I’m look forward to meeting the new residents of House District 140 and earning their support,” said Rep. Walle.

Rep. Armando Walle is serving his second term in the Texas House of Representatives and serves on the House Committees on Insurance and Homeland Security & Public Safety. He represents House District 140, which includes the Aldine area, northern portions of unincorporated Harris County and the City of Houston. Rep. Walle serves as the Deputy Floor Leader for the House Democratic Caucus.
