3 Incumbent Aldine Trustees face new challengers

Candidates Forum Wed. Oct. 6 at BakerRipley

ALDINE – The November Election will include a ballot choice for 3 seats on the Aldine ISD school board. Incumbents will have challengers in each of the three positions, an unusual situation in most election years.

Early voting will start on October 18, through October 29. On Tuesday, the polls will be open 7am to 7 pm. You may vote at any Harris County location, see HarrisVotes.com for more information.

FOR POSITION 3, incumbent Rose Avalos, a retired educator, is challenged by Jimmy Morales and Nico Mathews. Morales is an insurance agent, and Mathews is in education, according to his application.

FOR POSITION 4, incumbent Connie Esparza, a retired educator, is challenged by Zaheer Malik. Malik is an electrical engineer.

FOR POSITION 5, incumbent Steve Mead, a Salesman in the construction industry, is challenged by Manny Guerrero and Donald Jones. Guerrero is a consultant, and Jones is a nutrition specialist.

BakerRipley is hosting a Candidates Forum in English and Spanish on Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on their campus, the public is encouraged to come. Attendees are asked to register prior to the event at 346-570-4463 and to wear a face mask at the event.
