HOUSTON (July 12, 2022) – The Law Enforcement Academy is currently enrolling for this fall’s program to train the next group of cadets for careers as Texas peace officers.

Beginning in October, the 11-month, part-time program at Lone Star College-East Aldine Center provides cadets with a significant amount of skills-based training, including driving, firearms, emergency medical assistance, arrest and control tactics, and de-escalation training.

“Chancellor Dr. Steve Head was attempting to find a somewhat central location in the Lone Star College System and in an area with tremendous community support,” said Law Enforcement Academy Director Glenn Riddle when asked about LSCEast Aldine Center being selected to host the program. “East Aldine seemed to be the perfect fit! We also needed to place the program at a campus where the campus president supports this Continuing Education program. Lone Star College-North Harris President Dr. Archie Blanson is the right leader to work in collaboration with the Continuing Education division.”

All prospective students must attend an information session before enrolling in the course. Upcoming information sessions are Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. or Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Both sessions are in the Academic Building, Room 126 on the LSC-North Harris campus, located at 2700 W.W. Thorne Dr., Houston, TX, 77073.
