EAST ALDINE – Volunteers helped cleanup Greens Bayou and Crowley Park last Saturday, March 23rd. Green Forest Civic Club of East Aldine (GFCC), participated in the Greens Bayou Coalition’s (GBC) Trash Bash. It was GBC’s 30th anniversary of holding this event. Thanks to all who participated and helped make it a success.
Cleanup work started at Crowley Park off Lauder Road and Vickery.
We had 80+ people there. A special thanks to the volunteers who came from out-of-district to help clean up our section of Greens Bayou. We had volunteers from government agencies, businesses, organizations, schools, boy scouts, and individuals who just came to volunteer.
Sponsored by Harris County Pct. 2 and the East Aldine District, with the Greens Bayou Coalition. More information: www.greensbayou.org
Each time I work one of these types of events, it leaves me with a feeling of satisfaction. I feel I’m doing my part in healing our environment, paying my respects to Mother Nature. This time was a little easier for Kenneth and me; we worked the registration table. Other times, we’re out their with the young crowd picking up trash! Thank you, Northeast News, for putting this article in your newspaper. I always enjoy reading about our community, and current events outside of our community, in “The News.” Marina
