Delays expected: TXDOT advises Alternates
HOUSTON – The Texas Department of Transportation Houston District announces the start of an $8.3 million roadway rehabilitation project at Beltway 8 starting Friday, June 21, 2024.
There will be multiple extended closures associated with the work. Motorists will experience delays during the closures and should consider alternate routes. Additional closure information can be found at Houston TranStar. Closures are subject to change due to adverse weather.
Work is being performed by I.S.I. Consulting, Inc., with the project limits extending from west of Hardy Toll Road to east of Aldine Westfield Road. The estimated completion is spring 2025.
There will be multiple extended closures associated with the work as follows.
— I-45 North Freeway north bound connector ramp to Beltway 8 eastbound: Total closure from 8 p.m. on Friday, June 21 until 5 a.m. on Monday, June 24.
— I-45 North Freeway north bound connect0r ramp to Beltway 8 westbound: Total closure from 8 p.m. on Friday, June 21 until 5 a.m. on Monday, June 24.
— I-45 North Freeway south bound connector ramp to Beltway 8 eastbound: Total closure from 8 p.m. on Friday, June 21 until 5 a.m. on Monday, June 24.
— Beltway 8 eastbound entrance ramp from Greenspoint Drive/Greensgate Drive and Northchase Drive: Total closure from 8 p.m. on Friday, June 21 to 5 a.m. on Monday, June 24.
—Beltway 8 eastbound entrance ramp from Imperial Valley Drive: Total closure from 8 p.m. on Friday, June 21 to 5 a.m. on Monday, December 16.
—Beltway 8 eastbound main lanes between Ella Boulevard and Imperial Valley Dr.: Multiple alternate lanes closed from 9 p.m. on Friday, June 21 to 5 a.m. on Monday, June 24.
—Beltway 8 eastbound from Imperial Valley Dr. and the entrance ramp from the Hardy Frontage Road: Total closure from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 24.
— Beltway 8 eastbound connector ramp to Hardy Toll Road northbound: Total closure from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 24.
—Beltway 8 eastbound exit to Aldine Westfield Road: Total closure from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 24.
—Beltway 8 westbound main lanes between Aldine Westfield Rd. and Imperial Valley Dr.: One (1) left, (inside) lane closed from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 24.
TxDOT says it appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through work zones and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution if driving, walking, or biking near any construction activity.
