Fall Festival celebrates Dia de los Muertos

East Aldine held their annual Fall Festival last Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Town Center green. Hundreds of families came to see the Dia De Los Muertos displays, and to participate in the games and many vendors that were present.

The four hour event included music by Grupo Ace and Nico, food trucks and booths, prizes from the East Aldine District for best costume and best booth, a haunted house at BakerRipley, a moonwalk, a maze, and many games.

In spite of the heat, most folks had a great time. Marina Sugg said, “Yesterday, I celebrated Dia de los Muertos at East Aldine Town Center with some of my fellow Green Forest Civic Club members. We built an awesome altar to honor some of our loved ones. It was such a happy day, beautiful, full of laughter, entertainment, dancing, a cool breeze, food, sunshine, and greetings from old friends and new. We even got to celebrate my daughter Denise Castillo Rath’s birthday! Thank you God for this blessed day, and thanks to all who put this day together.
