A teen is recovering after being shot in the neck on Thursday night in the shopping mall on Aldine Mail Route near the Eastex Freeway.
The call for Harris County Sheriff’s deputies came at 7:50 p.m. Thursday concerning a number of shots fired in the parking lot in the 5200 block of Aldine Mail Route in the Food City parking lot in the East Aldine District.
When HCSO arrived on the scene, the 16-year-old had already been transported to a nearby hospital by a bystander in a private vehicle. The bystander returned to the scene.
Numerous shell casings were recovered by deputies, according to Detective Mullins, and one vehicle sustained damage from gunfire.
Officials say no one else was injured in the fray.
No suspect information was available and anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
