Thank You Military Veterans for Your Service

To Our Military Veterans and Aldine Community,

Today, on Veterans Day, I ask each of you to remember the sacrifices of the men and women who have served in the United States armed forces.

The service members we honor are ordinary people who have responded in extraordinary ways. They share fundamental qualities like courage, pride, integrity, determination, selflessness, as well as dedication to duty. These qualities allow these individuals to serve a cause larger than themselves. Thanks to their sacrifices, the American Dream is possible.

To our staff whose spouse, partner, or child is a veteran or is currently serving our country: thank you for supporting them in their decision to serve our country. You have my respect and my gratitude.

And to our educators, leaders, parents and community members, volunteers, and supporters who have served: thank you for your service and sacrifice.

We owe each of these men and women a debt of gratitude for their service in defense of our freedoms. Because of them and their families, we can enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

As we salute all veterans and active military personnel, we are highlighting the many veterans working in our district. They help our students grow and guide them to succeed in school, college, career, and life. Please take a moment to view the slide show of veterans working in AISD.

Again, we #CelebrateAldineISDVeterans and honor all of America’s veterans for their patriotism, bravery, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

With Aldine Pride,
Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney
